What is The Okanagan Rail Trail like?

With A total Length of 50 km starting at the north end of Kalamalka Lake and ending at the centre of Okanagan Lake, downtown Kelowna. With a maximum grade of 1.3% biking or walking the trail is a breeze. Many people bike the 18 km to Oyama at the end of Kal Lake and have some ice cream or visit the bakery and then return. Enjoy some of BC’s best scenic views and enjoy Kalamalka lake’s spectacular colours.

How long does it take to get to Oyama?

Oyama is 18km from us, and it takes about an 1 hour -1.5 hours on regular bikes and 45min-1 hour on E bikes one way.

Should I book in advance?

Booking ahead guarantees you will have the equipment at the time you’d like to start your rental, if not we do take drop in rentals day of based on availability.

What if I go past my set return time?

Rental Return Policy: Due to the high turnover of our rental fleet, it is crucial that we manage our rental returns times and policy. The rental duration that you choose, is the maximum time that your rental is scheduled for. We ask that you please select and book a duration that is fitting for your planned journey as we do charge a “Late Rental Return Fee” of $20 for every 10 minutes that each item is out past their scheduled time.

What size board should I rent?

10’6″: Good for paddlers with moderate experience or under 175 lbs

11’6″: Good for novice paddlers or paddlers under 250 lbs.

Kids board: Best for paddlers under 110 lbs or under 12

Tandem: Good for two people

Mega: Good for four people, perfect to paddle with your friends! Take a group on the water or make it an addition to a kids birthday party!

How long should I rent bikes?

2 Hours: Enough time to enjoy some scenic views or make it to Oyama for some ice cream and refreshments.

4 Hours: Enough time to get to Oyama, have lunch or keep exploring along the trail.

8 Hours: Enough time to explore all day along the Rail Trail enjoy the scenery; stop at some beaches or have lunch and even make it to Kelowna.

What’s Included in a bike rental?

We provide helmets (unless you have your own), baskets, bike locks if requested and a demonstration of how to use our equipment.

What’s included in a SUP rental?

We provide Lifejackets, paddles, paddle boards, and leashes if requested, for your SUP rental!

Do you have parking for my vehicle while I rent?

We have parking zones depending on how long you are renting, and we give you a parking pass during your rental period. If you are a big group we ask that you carpool or have the extra cars park just over at beach parking as we have a small parking lot.

What if I book for 4 hours and come back early?

We are unable to offer a refund if you choose to return back earlier than your scheduled time. We encourage you to select a time that works best for your planned day to ensure the time will be appropriate.

Can I bring my Dog on my SUP rental board?

We all love dogs, but unfortunately a dog’s paws aren’t a SUP’s best friend. Due to the risk of both puncture to the vinyl itself as well as scratching on the Deckpad surface, we are not able to accommodate for your furry friend!
